NUR 306 - Nutrition and Health

This course will examine the role of nutrition and dietary intake in population health and weUness, including the role of nutrition in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. Topics covered in this course will include: (1) foundational nutrition concepts as they apply to the promotion of health; (2) nutritional epidemiology and dietary assessment (3) diet-related chronic disease health disparities; (4) nutrition considerations for special populations; (5) nutrition policy; and (6) culturally appropriate nutrition communication and education.
