Master of Public Health, MPH

The Master of Public Health in Physical Activity and Health at NCWU is designed to equip graduate students with the knowledge and skills to incorporate physical activity into the core of public health practice, in order to improve the health of individuals, communities, and populations. The program is designed to train students as public health professionals, who are able to integrate the health promoting concepts of physical activity into public health programs, interventions, and policies. The MPH program includes foundational public health courses, in addition to concentration-specific courses which focus on behavioral aspects of physical activity, physical activity epidemiology, community-based physical activity programming, and population-based physical activity assessment. During their graduate coursework, MPH students also have the opportunity to connect their studies to practical, hands-on experiences in public health, by working directly with community partners.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) requires the completion of 42 semester hours of credit.
