The program aims to prepare students to pursue a life-long career as a strength and conditioning and sports science professional. Students enrolled in this program will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to carry out sports performance assessments, enhance athletic performance for individuals and teams, develop safe and effective strength training and conditioning regimes, and mitigate the risk of injuries related to sports. A high performance team model will emphasize sports science and analytics to optimize athletes’ training through data-driven decisions. Graduates of the program will be well-positioned to pursue National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
The program encompasses a range of courses, including three sports science courses, four strength and conditioning courses, three exercise science courses, and a series of internship and practicum experiences.
