The baccalaureate in nursing (BSN) program prepares students for entry-level professional nursing practice in a variety of settings. Students begin the program by taking foundational courses in the sciences and humanities. The nursing courses build upon this liberal arts foundation to prepare students to become professional nurses. Throughout the nursing courses in the upper levels of the program, students will be trained through classroom, simulation lab, skills lab, and clinical experiences throughout the local community to provide high-quality, competent, safe, holistic nursing care to patients across the lifespan through sound critical thinking and clinical judgment practices. At the completion of the BSN program, students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse (RN). The BSN program also prepares graduates to enter graduate studies and/or future leadership roles in various healthcare organizations.
