The advanced baccalaureate/post-bacc certificate in Applied Reproductive Biology (ARB) will be accessible to two distinct student populations:
1) Current NCWU students who meet criteria that will be specified, including advanced standing in a biology or biomedical science major.
2) Students who apply for admission to the program as a stand-alone certificate. These students must have already earned a bachelors degree in a laboratory science related field.
This course of study will prepare students for professional work in the laboratory and clinical settings related to IVF and other fertility-related fields. The course of study consists of four practical lab-based courses in embryology, andrology, and laboratory techniques. The course of study also incorporates professional education, including work to inform students’ understanding of the ethical issues in the field as well as professional training and placement.
Students completing the ARB certificate receive both preparatory online assignments and approximately 400 hours of in-person supervised laboratory instruction and experiences. Graduates of the ARB certificate program will continue to receive professional development, career counseling, and networking opportunities to find placements and opportunities for advancement in the reproductive technology field.
