HLP 420 - Program Planning and Evaluation in Health Education 3 Semester Hours Prerequisite: MAT 213 and HLP 301 This course is designed to examine methods for the identification of population-based needs for public health intervention, development of programs to meet those needs and evaluation of the effectiveness of public health interventions. Emphasis will be placed on the major components of any planning model; needs assessment; priority setting; problems statement; program goals and objectives; program implementation; program evaluation and budgeting. This course will also examine ethical issues related to community health program planning and evaluation, the influence of diversity on interventions and introductory grant writing.
