SOC 470 - The Social Context of Sexuality


3 Semester Hours
Prerequisite: Upper level standing (Junior/Senior) with a major in Sociology or Psychology; or permission of the instructor.
This course examines the social construction of sexuality and its impact on attitudes and behaviors. Students will gain a sociological understanding of the history of sexuality, demographic trends and research on sociosexual topics and controversial issues. Relevant perspectives from biology, history, psychology and law are also introduced.
