NTR 200 - Community Nutrition 3 Semester Hours This course will examine the role of nutrition in promoting, maintaining, and improving health at the individual and community levels. Economic, cultural, religious, environmental, and social influences on diet and nutrition will be examined, in addition to strategies to promote healthy eating at the individual and community levels. Other topics covered include food and nutrition policies and legislation, nutrition monitoring and food assistance programs. The course also covers principles and factors affecting food choices and food securities, also the course focus is on the nutrition emergency preparedness.
