NTR 310 - Nutrition Assessment 3 Semester Hours Prerequisite: NTR 300 This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the methods and approaches for conducting nutrition assessment of individuals and populations throughout the lifecycle. This course will provide an in-depth overview of nutrition assessment methods, including: (1) strengths and limitations of various nutrition assessment methods; (2) evaluation and interpretation of nutrition assessment data; (3) sources of measurement errors in nutrition assessment; (4) validity of nutrition assessment methods; (5) and basic analytical approaches used to interpret nutrition assessment data. Individual, clinical, social and applied aspects of nutrition, including food labeling, dietary analysis, supplements, food sustainability and food allergies will also be explored. This course will also provide students with practical skills related to nutrition assessment methods, with considerations for dietary intake, biochemical processes, and body composition.
