EDU 344 - Elementary Methods and Materials in the Social Sciences

3 Semester Hours
Prerequisite: 6 hours of social science, EDU 202, EDU 205
Designed to prepare elementary education majors to incorporate social studies in the K-6 curriculum. It concentrates on practical teaching issues and important theoretical issues. Special attention is paid to helping the prospective elementary teachers to learn to integrate social studies into other components of the curriculum: e.g., language arts.

Note: A student must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program before enrolling in upper-level education courses or must have permission from the Teacher Education Program. Permission will not be granted to students who have less than a 3.0 GPA.
