PBH 625 - Public Health Comprehensive Exams

Prerequisite: All MPH courses PBH 500  , PBH 510  , PBH 515  , PBH 520  , PBH 525  , PBH 530  , PBH 535  , PBH 540  , PBH 600  , PBH 610  , EXS 500  , EXS 600   with the exception of PBH 620  must be completed prior to taking PBH 625.
This course is designed for MPH students to complete their culminating public health integrative learning experience. The MPH comprehensive exams are designed to evaluate students’ ability to apply foundational public health knowledge and skills developed in the MPH core courses to novel contexts, problems and populations. Through an essay-based comprehensive exam, MPH students will produce a high-quality written product that is appropriate for their educational and professional objectives, and that demonstrates critical thinking, and integration of at least two public health foundational competencies and at least one MPH core competency. In addition, student will be expected pass a national certification exam (the National Board of Public Health Examiners Certified in Public Health exam), or similar proctored exam.
